The 2010 Humanitarian Accountability Report released
The HAP membership and its Secretariat released today the annual review of the "year that was", the 2010 Humanitarian Accountability Report. This year's report was published in conjunction with the 2010 HAP Secretariat Report.
The Humanitarian Accountability Report (HAR) is the third in a triology of annual previews of trends and developments in humanitarian accountability by the highly regarded researcher John Borton. This year's Humanitarian Accountability Report also contains the 6th annual survey of perceptions on humanitarian accountability (showing a gradual improvement in the accountability deficit in 2010), and a chapter based upon focus group discussions with Haitians affected by the January 2010 earthquake.

Christian Aid recognises the challenge to the charity sector when it comes to being accountable to the people we are trying to help. It is part of our ethos to give a voice to the voiceless and these new procedures will help us to redress the power imbalance by helping poor communities to hold us to account.
