The 2nd draft text of 2010 HAP Standard in Accountability and Quality Management is now available for public review. The deadline for feedback is Monday, 20 September 2010.
The current draft reflects the review phase, with particular attention to suggestions received during the consultations with aid workers and disaster-affected populations and feedback received on the first draft; it was also guided by the ISO/IEC Directives Part 2, Rules for the Structure and Drafting of International Standards (fifth edition, 2004) and the criteria set by the Steering Committee (including: is the standard mission critical, affordable and measurable?).
HAP member agencies: As agreed at the General Assembly in May 2010, HAP member agencies are expected to submit formal feedback on this draft of the Standard. If you work for a HAP member, please contact the HAP Focal Point at your organisatoin's head office to submit your feedback.
How to submit feedback: To submit feedback on the draft, please complete this form and email it to mblagescu@hapinternational.org no later than 20 September 2010.
Alternative methods: If you prefer to submit your written feedback without using the form, please ensure that you state:
· The draft section or page number, what benchmark, requirement or means of verification your feedback refers to;
· Whether you are providing a general comment or a specific suggestion for adjustment in the current draft; if the latter, please provide the rationale for the suggested change;
· Whether this is an individual submission or a submission on behalf of a group; if the latter, please identify the group (names of organisation, individuals, etc)

Next steps: Based on your feedback, a final draft of the 2010 HAP Standard will be prepared and submitted to the Board for adoption at their meeting in October 2010.
